A family holiday to France wasn’t going to put the brakes on Kirsty Bramley’s daily ride… particularly when bagSOLO stepped in to help. Here, she tells us how Bikebox’s new partner makes a cycling (or golfing, or skiing…) holiday easier than ever
Tell us a little bit about your trip.
We take a large family holiday each year which includes me, my husband Dave, two kids and lots of other family – around 20 of us in total. This year we went to Chateau Giraud. Dave and I still like to take our bikes on these trips and try to alternate family duties with getting a ride in every day. I managed 320 miles during the week and took the morning slot, going out every morning around the Bordeaux region.
You used bagSOLO to transport your bikes. Why?
They are our new partners so I already knew about their service. If we had taken our bike boxes on the plane, we would have needed to hire a massive car to get two adults, two kids and two boxes in there (as well as all our other luggage). bagSOLO appealed because they picked up from our office in Yorkshire and delivered straight the the chateau with their door-to-door service.

Did you encounter any problems?
Not really – the whole process was extremely easy. We told them where we were going and they did all the management. We weren’t at the chateau when the boxes arrived but Jack at bagSOLO emailed to let me know and rearranged delivery. By the time we arrived they were there so we built them up straight away. Needless to say, we’d definitely use them again.
